A boxing coach from Buckinghamshire is 'proud' after three of his students recently reached a national competition.
Jason Goody, who teaches the sport at the Aylesbury Boxing Club, saw his pupils in Connor O’Neil, David Stephen and Eric Pavlovsky all participate at the 2023 Midlands Boxing Cub where they all reached the finals in their respective categories.
At 70kg, O’Neil convincingly won his semi-final but was pipped to the post in the showpiece.
However, Stephens (66kg) and Pavlovsky (80kg), both won their finals and left the Midlands with a gold belt.
What made each feat even more memorable for the students, who are all 16-years-old, is that they balanced their training with their recent GCSE exams.
Jason told the Free Press: “The three of them each showed commitment, dedication and hard work and I’m very proud of them.
“They are all very disciplined and to do this around their exams is no mean feat.
“They all have bright futures ahead of them if they keep up the good work, and we’re very pleased for all of them.”
