A movie to commemorate 150 years of the Bourne End to Marlow Railway will be screened next week.
The footage, which will be shown at the Marlow Donkey Film Show in the evening of Tuesday, July 25, will include footage of the now defunct Wycombe to Bourne End link in a DVD that was not available for many years.
The movie was originally issued by Fawley Films who was part of the McAlpine Organisation.

Michael Eagleton, a Marlow resident and the organiser of the event, said: “On my one and only visit to Fawley Farm for one of the spectacular Railway Open Days in c.2017, I had the great pleasure of meeting William McAlpine (now sadly deceased), who was the enthusiast who saved the Flying Scotsman Locomotive.
“I told him I had been unable to find a copy of the Donkey DVD and there were none available on his website.
“William disappeared for a couple of minutes and returned with a DVD for me.

“A year later I got permission from the Marlow Society to show it on screen, but then came the covid lockdown problems and the death of several Marlow Society officials, but at long last it has been arranged.”
The doors will open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.
At the interval, refreshments, tea, coffee and wine will be served.
It will cost £3 for Marlow Society members and £4.50 for non members.
