Two hospitality workers in Buckinghamshire have reached the final of an international hospitality competition.

Oscar Eve-Howard from The Hand & Flowers in Marlow and Benjamin Mabley of Aylesbury’s Hartwell House Hotel & Spa wowed the judges at the 44th annual Young Chef Young Waiter and Young Mixologist contest in Birmingham.

The Marlow-based chef and the Aylesbury-based waiter impressed a panel of well-sought judges, with the pair now heading to Monaco for the next stage of the competition.

General Manager at the ICC Birmingham and Young Chef Young Waiter England Judge Craig Hancox said: “As a judge, I witnessed remarkable talent and unwavering passion in the YCYW [Young Chef Young Waiter and Young Mixologist] England competition.

“The winners have proved themselves as shining examples of perseverance and skill, deserving of the highest accolades.

“It has been a pleasure to be a part of, facilitating both individually as a judge and on behalf of Amadeus - who provided all of the food and beverage supplies for the competition.

The competition is open to chefs, waiters, and mixologists under the age of 28 based in England.

The final will take place on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 with 13 finalists taking part.
