Train operator Chiltern Railways has issued a warning to its customers about the significant disruption they can expect next week due to industrial action by both ASLEF and the RMT.
The planned action includes an overtime ban by ASLEF between July 17 and 22 as well as strike action by the RMT on Thursday, July 20 and Saturday, July 22.
During the overtime ban from July 17 and 19, Chiltern Railways will be operating an amended timetable with reduced service frequency on certain routes.
To mitigate the impact of the reduced services, Chiltern Railways has added extra carriages to the trains that are still running.
The RMT strike action on July 20 and 22 will result in a very limited service being in operation between approximately 8am and 10pm on those days.
As such, Chiltern Railways strongly advises its customers to only travel if it is absolutely necessary on these dates.
Chiltern Railways acknowledges that there will be further strike action on the London Underground immediately following the industrial action on their network.
Additionally, the RMT has scheduled another strike date for July 29.
