A RAPIST has been found guilty after forcing himself on a woman earlier this year.

Marcus Taylor, 43, of Lingfield Close, High Wycombe, was convicted by majority jury of one count each of rape, sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault following a trial at Amersham Crown Court, which concluded on Monday (June 19).

The court heard that Taylor went to the address of a woman this year in Buckinghamshire. While there, he forced himself upon his victim, raping her and sexually assaulting her.

When he left, the victim called the police and Taylor was arrested on the same day.

He will now be sentenced at the same court on August 10.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Nathan Devlin said: “I am pleased that Taylor has been convicted of these horrendous offences.

“I would like to pay tribute to the victim for her immense amount of bravery to stand up against her attacker and attend court and give evidence, which was extremely tough given the nature of the offences.

“I hope this conviction shows we are committed to tackling serious sexual offences and violence against women and girls, and we will support victims and bring offenders before the courts to face justice.”

Taylor was found not guilty of non-fatal strangulation.
