Residents are welcomed to join an event to support refugees in the Chilterns.
St Michael’s Church in Amersham-on-the-Hill is hosting Refugee Day on Saturday June 24 from 10am to 2pm.
The event is part of Refugee Week to remember the plight of millions of refugees around the world.
The Rotary Club of Amersham and its sister organisation Rotate will host music, refreshments, dancing and stories on the day to celebrate the power of compassion.
The programme includes children’s games, Ukrainian and Syrian food, Indian classical dancing, street dance, Ukrainian songs, Kurdish singing and more.
Both groups have supported families displaced by war in the Middle East and Ukraine, including organising collections for warm clothes.
Rotary Club Amersham's press officer Peter McLoughlin said: "Rotary in Amersham has provided computer tablets with audio translation for a number of Ukranian pupils at local primary schools to enable them to learn English quickly.
"They have also provided funding for a Little Chalfont group who are sending medical and other supplies to Ukraine."
