A week after the last pub in a Buckinghamshire village closed the owners have issued a fresh update.
The Crown in Ley Hill, Chesham, bid farewell to its customer on June 7.
The licensee Rob Deller-Hoy said he couldn’t carry on due to high costs and drop in revenue brought on by the cost-of-living crisis and the impact from the Covid pandemic.
He said the wave of pub closures in the county was “a vicious cycle” and “the sign of the times.”

Owners of the pub, the Heineken-owned Star Pubs and Bars, claimed the pub closed “without a notice”.
They said they were “working to get it reopened as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson from Star Pubs and Bars said.
The spokesperson said: “We don't as yet have possession of The Crown and so cannot advertise for someone to take it on.
“Once this process has completed we will look to reopen the pub as soon as possible.”
