Work is currently underway on a 'bigger and better' children's play area in a popular Bucks park.

Plans for a "bigger and better" refurbishment of the playground in Higginson Park, Marlow, were first unveiled by Buckinghamshire Council in April.

Work on the refurbishments, for which the council secured funding last autumn, kicked off yesterday (June 5) and is expected to take around seven weeks to complete.

New attractions of the renovated play area will include a large multi-play ship unit, a jumper trampoline and a giant rope swing.

It will also become a "more inclusive" playing space, with increased wheelchair access. 

Speaking in April, cabinet member for culture and leisure Clive Harriss said the new playground would provide "an engaging and secure environment for children of all ages and abilities to explore, learn and have fun".

Adding: "With innovative play equipment, sensory experiences and accessible design elements, it will foster a sense of community while promoting physical activity and social interaction among our young residents.

“This investment shows our commitment to providing all families in Buckinghamshire with first-rate play area facilities.”
