Buckinghamshire Council said they were ‘saddened’ to hear that a 12-year-old girl who died following an incident at Bournemouth beach was from High Wycombe.
In a statement released today (June 1), Anita Cranmer, cabinet member for education and child’s services, said: “Buckinghamshire Council is saddened to hear the tragic news of the death of a 12-year-old girl from High Wycombe yesterday on Bournemouth beach.
“Our thoughts go out to her family and friends. We will be offering support to them at this very difficult time.”
A 12-year-old girl and a boy, 17, died following an incident near Bournemouth beach yesterday (May 31), Dorset Police said.
An investigation has been launched and a man in his 40s who was in the water at the time has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
