The emergency services rushed to Wycombe Hospital today after a fire scare caused an evacuation.
Up to ten fire engines and crews attended the incident after reports of a fire in sections 11 and 12 of the hospital, staff reported.
Now Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has issued a statement.
A spokesperson for the trust said: “At 8.50am this morning smoke was detected at in the newer wing of Wycombe Hospital and the fire service was called.

“As a precaution the area was evacuated for around 20 minutes while fire officers investigated.
“The cause of the smoke was found to be a worn bearing on an air handling unit. The unit was made safe.
“There was no fire at any time and there has been no damage to any of the buildings. All services are now running as normal.
“Many thanks to all involved for following safety procedures and to the emergency fire service for their swift attendance.”
