A GARDEN centre in Buckinghamshire has become home to two blue tits after they made a nest in one of bird houses for sale.
Alban Hill Nurseries, in Newport Pagnell, has now cordoned off the timber shelter as it is illegal to disturb bird nests under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981.
However, the centre have welcome and ‘celebrated’ the newest residents as a ‘winning endorsement’ of their products.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, managing Director Nina Konig said the birds have ‘settled in very well’ and are ‘unfazed’ by the shop environment.
She added it has impacted trade slightly as customers cannot enter the cordoned area but noted the team were doing it for ‘all the right reasons’.
She and the garden centre team are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of fledglings.
The centre has since been praised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), who said the devoted staff have made a 'good home' for the blue tit couple.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Richard Morris of the RSPB said the birds have ‘clearly found a good home’ and it is great to see they have been given the space to raise their fledglings ‘in peace’.
