Homeless people in Wycombe need our help more than ever, so that’s why I’m getting ready to cycle 100 miles at the weekend.
I’m cycling to raise urgently needed cash for Wycombe Homeless Connection at Ride London, a 100-mile cycling event with 22,000 cyclists riding from the capital to Epping Forest and back with a glorious finish on Tower Bridge.
Taking part in the cycling challenge on Sunday is my way of using my cycling hobby - a largely solitary sport - for something good while enjoying the bliss of car free roads for one day.
Hopefully I’ll finish with a new personal best and zero punctured tyres!
Wycombe Homeless Connection’s fundraising and marketing manager Heather Stanley had this to say: “I am thrilled that Noora is taking on RideLondon for Wycombe Homeless Connection, joining two other amazing supporters, Tom and Stephen, in this epic cycle challenge.
“That all three have chosen to raise money to help local people who have lost their homes is inspiring and I can't stress how vital it is that people sponsor them so we can keep our support centre, homelessness helpline and all our other services open.
“The cost of living crisis continues to force people into homelessness and the number of people rough sleeping in Wycombe and across south Buckinghamshire is higher than it has been in years. We rely entirely on donations from our community to do our work and offer our heartfelt thanks to our riders and everyone who is supporting them. Every single gift helps us help a person get off the streets and into a home.”
Money is tight at the moment for many, so huge thank you for any support or a share!
