TWO planning applications that will see homes built within the Green Belt in West Buckinghamshire are set to be decided this week.
Councillors sitting on the west area planning committee have been recommended to approve to schemes despite objections from residents. The meeting will convene on Thursday, May 11.
The first one to be decided is the construction of four detached homes with garages, parking, landscaping, and a new access in Harvest Hill, Hedsor.
If approved, the applicant, Copas Farm, will bulldoze all equestrian buildings on the open space land known as Billinghurst Stud.

Although it is within the Green Belt, planning officers regard it as previously developed land, meaning there is a precedent for development, and believed the homes would not impact the openness of the Green Belt.
However, concerns were raised by nearby residents, disagreeing that just because it is previously developed land, it will still have an impact on the Green Belt.
Other concerns raised include overdevelopment and fears that the proposed access to the developed site will impact the existing ancient hedgerow.
One nearby household wrote: “We feel that what has been proposed is not in proportion with the rest of the homes in Harvest Hill in so much as there will be 4 large homes with detached garages and an access road in less than 1.2 of an acre, this seems very crowded and out of keeping, and surely constitutes over planning.”

The second application includes converting existing barns at Little Farm in London Road, Loudwater, into two two-bedrooms and one three-bedroom homes.
Like the first scheme to be decided, the site is within the Green Belt but as it constitutes previously developed land, there is a precedent for development and officers don’t believe it will impact the openness of the Green Belt.
