The firefighters have revealed more about the cause of the ‘shocking’ fire which ripped through a warehouse.
Residents on Copyground Lane in High Wycombe were woken up shortly before 3am on April 18 after a huge fire had broken out inside one of the furniture workshops.
Although fire crews from nine fire stations across Buckinghamshire rushed to the scene, the blaze destroyed one business and badly damaged another, eyewitnesses and the fire service said.
The owner of a neighbouring business barely saved from the flames claimed “everything” in the main building was destroyed, including machinery worth up to £160,000.
Now the fire crews have revealed more about the cause of the blaze, which forced residents to keep their windows shut and a safety cordon around the building because of asbestos at the site.
A spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “At this time, we do not believe the cause to be suspicious.”
