Bucks New University was voted the best for cost of living support according to students.
It was praised for helping students through tough financial times at an award ceremony held in London yesterday (April 26).
The accolade came after students voted for the best universities in the 2023 Whatuni Student Choice Awards.
A panel of student judges was shown how the university gave out £700,000 to 1,172 students through bursaries and hardship funds to help with the bills, rent, food, course resources and transport.

The university also served 6,000 free breakfasts, lunched and dinners to 783 students, and created £50,000 projected savings from catering initiatives for the student community in the 2022/23 academic year.
The university’s vice-chancellor Professor Nick Braisby said: “Our response to the cost-of-living crisis was recognised as truly sector-leading, and we can take great pride that this was identified as the best support offered within UK higher education.
“This was also an excellent example of how the University works together in partnership with Bucks Students’ Union to provide our students with the best possible experience.”
