Italian restaurant Prezzo has announced the closure of its Bucks branch alongside 46 other UK locations due to 'soaring costs and changes to customer habits'.
The closure of 46 of the chain's 143 restaurants is set to impact 810 workers across the country, including those employed at number 34 on Buckingham High Street.
The group said the closures are a result of utility costs almost doubling in cost amid a post-pandemic shift in customer habits that has meant a decrease in footfall at some sites.
Prezzo said the imminent shake-up will impact restaurants that currently have a lower footfall than they did prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, with those remaining tending to be in busier areas including retail parks or tourist hot-spots.
Restaurants in other regions also facing closure include the Prezzos in Bracknell, Berkshire, Didcot, Oxfordshire and Oxford, Oxfordshire.
