Multiple fire crews tackled a blaze at a factory in the early hours of the morning.
Fire crews from across Buckinghamshire rushed to the scene of a fire at a commercial building on Copyground Lane in High Wycombe today (April 18).
The fire had started on the ground floor of the building, which is surrounded by residential buildings.
Resident Qaiser Rafiq Khan reported hearing fire crews arrive at around 3am.
“There was one person in the factory at the time of the fire who managed to escape unharmed and alert the emergency services,” he claimed.
The fire crews asked eyewitnesses to stay back due to the risk of asbestos exposure, Mr Khan added.
The building dates back to the 1920s and it was occupied by three tenants, including a furniture manufacturer, he claimed.
When 10 fire appliances arrived, the fire was “fully developed” with smoke billowing into the air.
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Thames Valley Police attended to help establish a scene cordon. The road is expected to be closed for some time so motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

"Smoke remains present in the area so local residents and businesses may wish to keep doors and windows closed.
“Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the day turning over, damping down and monitoring for hot spots.”
The entire building was damaged in the fire, Bucks Fire and Rescue Service said.
