A state-of-the art electric car facility is set to pioneer the future of the industry from a new base in High Wycombe.
Data intelligence company Geotab has opened its first Innovation and Research Hub on Wellington Road in High Wycombe, where it promises cutting-edge insights will help to revolutionise the electric vehicle industry.
While the electric transport industry is seeing a steady increase in growth, official vehicle information standards remain scarce. Canadian company Geotab is planning to tackle this by providing comprehensive data-based insights to help inform advancement and sustainability in the expanding sector.
Senior Vice President of Geotab Europe, Edward Kulperger, said: "Our state-of-the-art High Wycombe facility is Geotab's first dedicated automotive facility in Europe, and is behind much of the success of the innovative technology."
Alongside facilitating progress, the data provided by Geotab is also projected to reduce the occurrence of issues such as unexpected breakdowns, inefficiency and decreased productivity in electric vehicles.
The company’s High Wycombe base will serve a variety of functions including testing new hardware, carrying out product safety checks and judging optimal installation methods.
According to Geotab, the range of rich and comprehensive data available in relation to virtually all electric vehicles reflects the hard work of hundreds of engineers and data scientists since the company was founded in 2000.
“The hub is home to some of the brightest minds in the industry who are pioneering the way forward in developing cutting-edge technologies to support connected vehicles of all kinds.
“With a focus on delivering innovative solutions, this centre of excellence is at the forefront of driving a cleaner and more sustainable future for transportation.”
