A PUB landlord has managed to raise hundreds of pounds to support a charity close to his heart.
Chris Carroll who owns the Fleur De Lis pub in Stokenchurch hosted a race night to raise funds for No Excuse for Abuse CIC.
He has seen many friends suffer from domestic abuse in the past.
A charity spokesman said: "He supports our organisation because these issues are close to his heart.
"We are so pleased when local organisations support us and shine a light on a subject that many find hard to discuss or acknowledge.
"When organisations like the Fleur de Lis pub help us to educate and raise awareness about domestic and sexual abuse, it helps us to appeal to a wider audience. Our details are displayed around the pub and in their toilets which enables anyone to contact us or signpost friends and family."
The charity claim that within the Thames Valley area between April 1, 2022 and September 30, 2022, the police made 15,000 arrests, with 30 per cent of these arrests related to domestic abuse.
The number of charges for sexual offenses increased by 105 per cent, rape by 8 per cent, stalking and harassment by 45 per cent.
"Tragically, these numbers are continuing to increase, exacerbated by the pandemic, people's mental health and the cost of living crisis." a spokesman added.
