An Irish dance group hosted a 'brilliant' taster class for residents in Marlow to celebrate St Patrick's Day.

Buckinghamshire-based dance company Dance Irish are celebrating St Patrick's Day with a flurry of local events.

The group spread the Irish luck to Marlow early, with a river dance-style class that took place on the eve of the global celebration (March 16) at The Marlow Club in Fieldhouse Lane.

Head of Customer Relations for the company, Victoria Sives, said: "We had some fantastic feedback for the class held at The Marlow Club.

"We used the famous river dance music, 'Reel Around The Sun', and all the attendees did an amazing job and could definitely join the river dance cast!"

The Dance Irish group regularly stage performances for a range of audiences, including a recent gig at Ryeview Manor care home on March 15.

Ryeview residents were encouraged to participate by doing seated chair exercises and one enthusastic guest, who had formerly been a professional dancer, joined in on the jig.

Dance Irish are committed to donating a percentage of their profits to charitable causes.

Fifty percent of the funds raised by St Patrick's Day events will go directly to the MS Society, as the company's chosen cause for 2023.
