AN AMAZING boy has decided to cut 39 inches of his hair after feeling inspired to help the Turkey and Syrian earthquake victims.

Brooklyn Lawrence, 6, from High Wycombe, started to ask his mum questions when he saw harrowing images on TV of families being torn apart by the horrific earthquake.

Having never had his hair cut in his life, his mum Charlotte Rowland thought it was a brilliant opportunity to put "two and two together" and raise money for a good cause.

Charlotte said: "As you can see Brooklyn is very young but when he saw what was happening on the TV he was inquisitive so we sat him down and explained and asked him if he wanted to cut his hair and raise some money to help some of the victims of this natural disaster.

"At first he was scared because he loved his hair but we explained that it could help people that needed it and give them shelter and help.

"It will bring people together for such a deserving cause. Then he was keen to do this.

"I'm very proud of my son and my daughter for the sponsorship as they've gone direct to the teachers to ask for money."

So far, they have managed to raise £1,000 in cash for ADRA the development and relief agency, an independent, humanitarian agency for disaster relief.

Brooklyn's sister Renaye is helping collect money too.

"I didn't think he would get this amount so this is a great thing," Charlotte said.

"Kids should be putting themselves out there. We're all in a crisis now but look at the bigger picture with natural disasters happening. The earthquake took so many lives of all ages even pregnant women and babies. We are hoping that if everyone pulls together we can help to take some of the burdens off the victims of this earthquake."
