POLICE have given an update on their investigation after a woman was hospitalised protecting her dog from being attacked.
The incident happened at about 2pm on March 1 when the victim, a woman in her fifties, was walking a Siberian husky off the lead in a field between Hawthorne Road and Herbert Road.
Thames Valley Police said at the other end of the field was a man walking two dogs off the lead, Staffordshire bull terrier and an 'XL bully', but he put them back on the lead when he saw the woman and her pet.

The pair 'approached with no issues' but the man soon shouted at the victim to put her dogs on the lead and got verbally abusive.
All three dogs then began to fight and the victim tried to protect her dog by laying on top of it. She was rushed to hospital with three serious dog bites on her leg and arm, and spent four days receiving treatment.
The man is described as white, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, aged around 20-25, of average build and had a Polish accent.
Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made since their first appeal for witnesses but said the incident is still being investigated.
