THE headteacher of an academy in High Wycombe which was the location of a physical fight has described the incident as disappointing.
Glen Burke, the head of The Highcrest Academy, has responded to the incident which occurred outside the school building in Hatter’s Lane on Monday (March 13) but did not involve any of his students.
At about 3.40pm there was an unknown amount of young people involved in a physical altercation. There were no serious injuries but a boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mr Burke said: “We were naturally disappointed that there was an incident that took place outside of our school gates that involved young people not associated with the academy.
“We are reassured that the police are dealing with the matter.”
One parent anonymously described the incident as ‘so scary’. It was first believed that the incident involved knives but police have confirmed this is not the case.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said: “A teenage boy from the town was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has been released under investigation.

“There were no serious injuries in the incident. Anybody who witnessed the incident are asked to call 101, quoting reference 43230112824.”
