THE POLICE have issued an update on the fate of a man who was arrested following the bomb scare in High Wycombe.
Residents and visitors witnessed concerning scenes yesterday (March 14) as the police and the bomb disposal squad scrambled to the town centre during lunchtime.
A police cordon was swiftly put in place around the railway station area on Amersham Hill after a member of the public raised the alarm.
Thames Valley Police went to an address in Amersham Hill and arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of possession of an explosive material for an unlawful purpose.

He was taken to police custody.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police commented on March 15: “The man remains in police custody at this time.”
The worrying incident prompted the Police Commander for South Bucks Superintendent Emma Burroughs to reassure residents and visitors that the police and Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit “are on the scene and managing the incident”.
