Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has revealed that Josh Scowen’s injury that forced him to miss the 2-0 victory over Fleetwood Town is not ‘serious’.
The 29-year-old was absent from the squad on March 7, as goals from Chris Forino and Sam Vokes secured the manager's first win since taking over at the end of February.
And despite this being the first time since the end of December that Scowen has not played for Wycombe, Bloomfield confirmed he hopes the central midfielder will be back for this weekend’s away trip to Burton Albion.

“He picked up a knock at the end of the game on Saturday against Exeter [March 4] as did Garath [McCleary] and they were both touch and go for tonight [March 7].
“We didn’t know until this afternoon whether one, both, or neither were going to feature as we had to make a late selection for the two.
“Fortunately, Garath was OK, but Josh wasn’t.

“He was nearly ready for tonight, but we hope to have him back for the weekend.”
Scowen’s omission meant Nick Freeman came in for only his 14th league start of the season.
However, the 27-year-old is leading the way for the most appearances made for any Chairboys player this campaign.
Freeman, who joined the club in 2016, has played 39 times across all competitions for Wycombe.

Speaking on Freeman’s showing against the Cod Army, where he played the whole 90 minutes, Bloomfield added: “We didn’t have Josh Scowen but I thought Nick was excellent and deserves all praise he gets.
"Fair play to him.
“He had a horrible injury last season but he has got himself back fit and he’s been consistently knocking on the door this year.
“He’s played a lot of games, he works hard in training and he’s a humble guy that wants to do well.”
