WYCOMBE'S historic lido has been named as one of the best outdoor heated pools in the UK.

Timeout magazine has revealed a top 10 list of the best (and most beautiful) public pools people can take a dip in.

The online magazine has rounded up the best spa pools, lidos and swimming pools to cater to your nautical needs – and all of them are heated to perfection.

Luckily for residents, the best pool in the UK is right on our doorstep as Wycombe Rye Lido features first place on the top 10 list.

Timeout said the best part about Wycombe Lido is that it is "open all year long, so come rain or shine, you can take a quick dip whenever you please." 

Wycombe Rye Lido, previously called Holywell Mead Pool, opened in 1957 and closed in March 2009 after Wycombe District Council said it could no longer fund the running of the site. It opened again in March 2011 by Fusion Lifestyle following refurbishment.

The £200,000 investment saw the rejuvenation of the pool following its re-opening.

In the summer, you can sunbathe around the grassy area in the lido or on the pool viewing stands.

The water fountain is available in the sauna area and vending machine at reception.

On-site, you’ll also find a gym where you can take part in exercise classes, indoor cycling, football and tennis, and there’s also a café where you can unwind after all of the fun.
