Eleven schools in the county are in line for a national sustainable travel award.
Ten primary schools and one secondary school across Buckinghamshire were shortlisted for the 2023 National Modeshift STARS School Travel Awards out of 125 schools.
The awards recognise schools that have shown excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other sustainable travel.
Here are the shortlisted schools.
- Long Crendon School
- Elangeni School
- Turnfurlong Infant School
- St Mary’s Church of England School
- Newton Longville Church of England Primary School
- St Mary and All Saints CofE Primary School
- St Louis Catholic Primary School
- High March School
- Green Ridge Academy
- Amersham School
The nominated schools will attend a virtual regional awards ceremony in March, with a chance to be chosen as the winning regional school to represent the area at the in-person national awards in June.

Buckinghamshire Council’s cabinet member for transport Steven Broadbent congratulated the nominated schools, saying “their hard work and dedication to sustainable and active travel must be applauded”.
"I wish them all the best of luck in the upcoming regional awards," he added.
