PROTESTORS gathered in the centre of Milton Keyes with signs to campaign against the inaugural coronation of King Charles III.

The monarch visited the Church of Christ the Cornerstone in Saxon Gate today (February 16) to attend a reception for members of the local community and to celebrate its new status as a city.

Milton Keynes was awarded the new status as part of the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

However, protestors gathered outside the Ecumenical church with placards with ‘Not My King’ spray painted onto yellow posters.

Other members of the public could be seen taking pictures of the monarch and shaking his hand. He is due to be coronated on May 6 this year.
