Turkish cousins who own kebab vans in Marlow are being supported by the community after the horrific Turkey and Syria earthquakes.

Marlow residents are donating to a JustGiving page started by the Pub in the Park team to help local takeaway owners Haji and Tony.

Haji was visiting his family in southern Turkey when the earthquake struck and Tony, his cousin, lives in Marlow but has friends and family in the affected areas.

On the fundraising page, the team wrote: "Haji's town is destroyed and his family are now homeless. He's gone to stay with his parents but the whole area is devastated. They were lucky to survive.

"Both Tony and Haji were always there at the end of a big night as chefs, problem solvers and shoulders to cry on.

"Anyone who's ever gotten into difficulty on their way home knows Tony and Haji are always there for us.

"This time we can be there for them by sending some money to help provide help for their neighbours and family."

The two men, who the fundraiser dubs "local legends", have kebab vans in Higginson Park and Dean Street car park.

The page was created with the goal of raising £5,000 but after widespread support from the Marlow community, the total now stands at over £6,000 from 258 contributors.

CEO of Pub in the Park Chris Hughes said: "It's another example of how brilliant the people of Marlow are.

"Within two days we'd beaten our target amount and we'll keep it open until Monday when we'll send them the money to use as they choose.

"Tony and Haji are two of Marlow's most loved people. We are all just trying to help a friend and their families in a terrible time of need."
