A FORMER lawyer who gave up her job to bake crumpets is now enjoying her creative career whilst being a mum.
Judith Bonné from Quainton is launching her business Lovely Bit of Crumpet next week on Friday, February 17, also known as international crumpet day.
"It’s an exciting venture and I think could be the next trend," she said.
"I’ve always loved crumpets - we used to have them for Sunday tea time as a family, slathered in butter and dripping with honey."
Ms Bonné, 35, quit her profession as a corporate lawyer to put her all into the baking business.
Enjoying crumpets since her childhood; she has now developed her own recipe so others can enjoy her moreish treats.
She said: "It was quite the change from my profession as a corporate lawyer. I started my legal career in 2011 at a London law firm and it was long and intense hours at times, but intellectually stimulating and an enjoyable challenge.
"I wanted to explore my entrepreneurial and creative side, as well as needing flexibility as a working mum.
"I’m very happy to have a chance to use my more creative side as I've always had a passion for all things food and especially baking.
"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to follow my dream of running an artisan crumpet business online and hope to bring crumpets, Britain's unsung baking hero and the ultimate comfort food, to the fore."
Lovely Bit of Crumpet is collaborating with local producers in Buckinghamshire, including Chesham business Two Spoons Tea and Chiltern- based businesses Violet's Orchard which produces jams.
Judith has also given ideas on how you can enjoy crumpets.
You can enjoy it hot and buttered, loaded with chilli con carne or topped with poached eggs and avocado.
The crumpet packs which will be available to buy online are available to purchase in three artisan flavours (original, cinnamon and raisin, and tomato pesto).
Customers will also be able to buy gift hampers, crumpet-making kits and gift cards - the perfect gift for any food-lover.
Crumpets are made fresh in Quainton and sent by a next-day courier across the UK on a Thursday, delivering just in time for the weekend.
