THE REPAIR of a historical outdoor pool in Buckinghamshire town is nearly completed.
The Chesham community will soon be able to enjoy a dip in the refurbished pool that has been keeping residents fit and healthy since 1912.
The opening date for the pool at Chesham Moor Gym and Swim is likely to be in mid-February, Chesham Town Council’s head of operational services Danny Essex said in a blog post.
He said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and interest.
"This swimming pool has been part of Chesham for 111 years and continues to offer the residents of Chesham and its surrounding areas the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear low chlorinated water.
“The health benefits associated with swimming outdoors are second to none and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you all back to continue the story of ‘Cheshams best kept secret."

Repair work was completed, and scaffolding around the pool is due to come down ahead of the weekend on January 27, he said.
“Then we’ll be on to filling the lovely new pool, testing the water, and training our staff. We still estimate we’ll be ready to re-open our outdoor pool around mid-February. The photo shown here was taken on 26 January,” he said.
