A DRIVER with tinted windows was pulled over by the police in Buckinghamshire yesterday.
The police spotted a driver in Amersham with “very dark” windscreen and front side windows on Monday January 24.
When the driver stopped, the tint meter showed the side glass tint allowed only 18 percent of light in and the windscreen 42 percent, Thames Valley Police said.
The force said: “The level of this was well below the legal limit. Police have powers to #prohibit vehicles with anything less than 29 percent. In this instance the driver was happy to remove the tints but still received a ticket for three points and fine of £100.”

The driver was also given a vehicle defect rectification scheme notice – meaning the vehicle must be taken to an MOT test station within 14 days, the force said.
Legally, the front side glass has to allow 70 percent of light, while the windscreen must allow 75 percent of light to pass through.
