AN AFTER-SCHOOL club in Buckinghamshire was given a positive review by Ofsted.
The education watchdog Ofsted inspected Little Walkers before and after school club at St George’s C of E Infant School in Amersham on December 8.
They found the provider met the quality and standards of early years provision, and its safeguarding arrangements were effective.
The inspector said: “Children thoroughly enjoy their time at the club. They are welcomed by the warm and nurturing staff, who know them well. Children are settled and comfortable in an environment that staff ensure is safe and secure.”
Children attending the club, aged three to seven, were found to be motivated to join in with activities, and older children were seen supporting and including their younger peers.
The report said: “Staff encourage children to respect each other's similarities and differences. They have conversations with children about the way they celebrate different festivals at home. Children share their experiences with one another and enjoy the opportunities to learn new things. Staff ensure that children are aware of the diversity of life in modern Britain.”

Staff were commended for using “gentle and positive techniques” to help children understand and manage emotions, creating sociable experiences for children at mealtimes, and having an effective communication system with parents.
The school club owners Michael and Suzy Walker said they were “proud of our recent Ofsted inspection.”
They said: “We have always provided a safe and secure and happy environment for children to enjoy and learn.”
