Buckinghamshire has received £397,000 towards active travel improvements across the county.
Buckinghamshire Council has been awarded funding from the third phase of the government’s active travel capability and ambition fund.
Cyclists, pedestrians and residents will now benefit from additional walking and cycling infrastructure.
The council previously received grants of £111,000.

The grant will support improvements across the county, including the development of a Buckinghamshire Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP), resources to encourage school-aged children and young people to walk, cycle and scoot to and from school and training for officers and councillors on active travel infrastructure design.
The funding will also be used by the council to support promotion and monitoring of recently constructed active travel routes, alongside wider activities to encourage behaviour changes and feasibility work for future active travel schemes.
Steven Broadbent, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, said: "We are delighted to have received this significant funding from Active Travel England, which will allow us to further our commitment to improving active travel in Buckinghamshire. We look forward to using this funding to support a range of initiatives that will enhance our team’s technical skills, develop new schemes and promote walking, cycling and wheeling in our community."
