MORE trees will be cut down as part of HS2 works to realign the A418 road in Aylesbury.
Roadworks will start on Monday, January 23 until Sunday, February 19 Monday to Fridays between 9.30am and 3pm.
HS2's high-speed railway project is expecting the A418 realignment to be fully operational in Autumn this year, and will carry road traffic over the railway line.
The main construction of the realignment is expected to begin in early 2023 and will include works on the A418 bridge and the earthworks surrounding the structure where a 'cutting' will created the HS2 line it will run through.
To realign the A418 Oxford Road, HS2 said they must do localised vegetation clearance and tree felling at points where the new road will meet the existing A418.
Residents have been warned to expect road closures and diversion routes, noise from plant and equipment used for the works.
There will be a full closure of the A418 for around four Sundays, from 8am to 6pm whilst work around the large canopy trees that span the road are unable to be accessed with a normal lane closure.
