A TRADITIONAL Sri Lankan restaurant has opened its doors in High Wycombe to rave reviews.

Taste of Ceylon Spice has opened on 28 Castle Street, High Wycombe, near the train station.

Owner Val Rajah felt inspired to open his first restaurant in the heart of Wycombe town centre due to a growing Sri Lankan and Indian community in the area.

He said: "There is a wide growing Sri Lankan and Indian community across Bucks who would love to have authentic Sri Lankan and South Indian food locally.

"All the ladies in the family can cook really well and my mother has always dreamt of running a takeaway/restaurant."

The restaurant serves dishes such as: Sri Lankan Kottu, Appam, Lamprais, Prawn Vadai, Mutton Rolls and South Indian Dosa, Idly, poori and more.

Mr Rajah added: "Our menu has special Sri Lankan food that is not easily found in the UK. Some of our dishes are even cooked in clay pots just we used to in Sri Lanka back in the days.

"Our main focus is takeaway but we have a little cosy, well decorated space to sit and enjoy the food."

There are even meals on the menu for as little as £4 but he said "overall the price is average as we serve good quality fresh food."

"We opened on the 7th January and it's been an amazing experience. We already have five star reviews.

"We are really happy and moving forward in the right direction."
