Some customers in the wider area may also experience low water pressure because of the burst, Affinity warned.
Customer were told to avoid using a washing machine, dishwasher or electrical appliances which use water, while engineers visit the site.
Those still with water in their tabs should put some in a kettle or fridge for drinking in case the water needs switching off for the repair, Affinity Water advised.
A spokesperson for Affinity Water said: "We have notified customers that we will need to temporarily turn off their water supply to them once we start the repair.
"We’ve advised them to store some water now so they have enough for drinking."
A repair team was on the burst site setting up traffic management to allow digging and repairs on the burst site, Affinity Water said around 3pm.
