A barn was destroyed in a blaze as firefighters and police officers battled the fire throughout the night.

The emergency services rushed to the fire in Bow Brickhill in Woburn Sands at 4:50pm and remained there until the following morning.

Police have now confirmed they an investigating investigation into the fire is ongoing.

Inside the barn, there was a caravan which was also 100 per cent damaged in the blaze.

Firefighters established a water shuttle, whilst the road was closed by Thames Valley Police while they worked at the scene.

A Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Two appliances and crews from West Ashland, one from Broughton, one from Newport Pagnell, one from Kempston, along with three officers, attended.

"A barn, which measured around 15 metres by five metres, was on fire. The barn contained a caravan and cylinders."

"The firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one main jet, a thermal imaging camera, temporary lighting, hay drags.

"They established a water shuttle, and the road was closed while they worked at the scene.

"The barn was 100 per cent damaged by fire, and partially collapsed. The caravan was also 100 per cent damaged.

"The firefighters and Thames Valley Police remained on the scene through the night and into the following morning.

"The incident was left in the hands of Thames Valley Police."

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Thames Valley Police was called to assist the fire service with a barn fire that happened near Bow Brickhill Road on Monday (Decemeber 19) at around 5.20pm.

“An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
