An incredible light display of the Jolly Rodger has been created in High Wycombe this Christmas.

The display took father-and-son duo, Nathan Jocelyn and Andy, four days to build and looks incredible lit it.

The pair are well known for their previous impressive displays including the impressive Coca-Cola truck and the Hogwarts Express on Bank Street.

The recreation of the world-famous Coca-Cola Truck made the news in Germany and was even noticed by Coca-Cola themselves, who donated £500 towards the charity that year.

The charity this year is the One Can Trust with previous money raised being donated to Great Ormond Street, British Red Cross, Wycombe Wycombe Aid.

The Hogwarts Express was built to celebrate to 20th year anniversary of Harry Potter with families visiting from Manchester, Kent, St Albans, Milton Keyes, Brighton, and the furthest travellers from Glasgow.

This year’s display features Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and snow will be blown over the ship on some days.

The lights were switched on December 12 and will be turned on from 6:30pm to 9pm on Monday to Friday and from 4pm to 8pm on weekends until January 3.

Nathan said: “It all started many many years ago when I and my siblings were younger.

“At Christmas we would decorate the whole of the house and garden with lights. This was something we have done every year.

“One we had the Bucks Free Press come around to take pictures which we that year made the papers in 2005.

“ Since then my dad and I have just got a lot more creative with our display.

“The first build which grabbed a lot of attention was our recreation of the world-famous Coca-Cola Truck. We had built this many times but it really got noticed in 2020.”

Nathan revealed this year, the pair wanted to create another iconic display that everyone would recognise.

He continued: “This year 2022 we wanted to change it up for the third year running.

“We thought we would create another icon that all generations could appreciate and something that reminds you of Christmas and magic.

“We decided to build the Peter Pan Ship called The Jolly Roger.

“It took us four solid days to build but we both got there in the end.”

Donations are being made to the One Can Trust, with the pair setting up a GoFundMe page (https://www.gofundme.com/f/bank-street-christmas-display).

He added: “We decided to support One Can as these last few years have been tough for everyone.

“When we found out what One Can Trust does to help it was a no-brainer that with the crisis we are in at the moment they were the best charity to back.

“We have only recently heard about One Can only by searching for local charities in Wycombe that we want to help.

“They are an amazing organisation and we think if a lot more people knew about them and what they do to help with everyone pulling together it would help them to continue on the support that they are giving out.“.
