A man has been jailed after breaking into a home in Flackwell Heath as well as fraud offences.

Gordon McKay, aged 41, of Heath End Road, Flackwell Heath was sentenced to three years, a month and two weeks after pleading guilty to one count each of fraud by false representation and burglary at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday (December 13).

McKay broke into a property in Highlea Avenue, Flackwell Heath last year on August 2 before fleeing the area after a woman in her sixties arrived home.

The woman could hear someone upstairs and shouted towards him before McKay jumped out of a window into the garden.

She took a photo of him walking down the side of her house before he made off on a bicycle.

McKay was arrested on the same day and charged on August 4 last year, following an identification procedure.

Officers also found that on August 15 2020, McKay used bankcards at various petrol stations that were stolen from an address in Mill End Road, High Wycombe, the day before.

Investigating officer PC Alistair Rokas, of the Priority Crime Team based at High Wycombe police station, said: “The conviction of Gordon McKay was the direct result of the support of the victim and of the diligent and positive investigation by High Wycombe’s Priority Crime Team.

“McKay is a habitual career criminal and the sentence handed down by the court rightly reflects the criminality he perpetuates.”
