Walking in winter might not be for the faint of heart but it's a great way to see the best of what Buckinghamshire has to offer while working off those Christmas dinners!
T'is the season to wrap up in your winter warmers (scarf, hat, gloves and all) and maybe even catch some snowflakes.
We have put together a list of some of the best walks and hiking trails on your doorstep.

Winter walks in Buckinghamshire
West Wycombe & Bradenham Walks
Explore the countryside estates of West Wycombe, Bradenham and Hughenden this festive season.
You can venture out to West Wycombe Hill, Naphill Common and Downley Common which are three of the 200 commons in the Chilterns.
You can map your route via the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) website.
One walker shared their experience on Tripadvisor: "This is an excellent circular walk from West Wycombe up to Bradenham (or you can carry on to Saunderton) and then back round to West Wycombe.
"There is decent parking in West Wycombe and the walk is brilliant.
"Passes through some untouched sections of the Chilterns and Bradenham is a great little village with a very nice village green.
"The whole walk maybe takes 2.5 hours but, apart from climbing the hill to the Mausoleum at the start, is relatively flat."

Treasure Trails
Take your winter walk up a notch with this Treasure trail in Wendover.
You and the family can look for clues, solve a mystery and see the scenic sights of the town.
Awarding it 5 stars, one visitor wrote: "We stumbled across the trail on the internet and we are so glad we did.
"We spent just over 6 hours in Wendover, about three of which was completing the trail.
"The clues are varied and interesting and the trail lets you explore lots of Wendover. We will definitely complete another trail in another town."

Chiltern Walks
If you've walked the Chilterns before, it's time you enjoyed some fresh air here again since there are endless walking and cycling routes to uncover.
You can even download some walks from the National Trust to inspire you.
One walker reviewed their visit on Tripadvisor: "You could spend a lifetime walking in the Chilterns without repeating a whole route or getting bored."
While another user added: "Just great. Chilterns are undervalued as a walking place.
"You will need wellies in winter. Hard to ride a bike on the trails.

Grangelands and the Rifle Range
You'll find the Grangelands and the Rifle Range just 1.5 miles from Princes Risborough and we have to say this scenic landscape is well worth the visit.
Enjoy the fresh air while exploring its 15 acres and trying to spot various animals grazing.
You could even hop on the Ridgeway National Trail if you fancied more of a workout that runs right through the grangelands.
Describing it as a "stunning countryside and walking area", one Tripadvisor user went on to rate the route 5* and leave this review: "It was a wide range of flowers and plenty of wildlife, including a number of butterfly species.
"The scenery and views are spectacular in good weather. A wonderful area to explore, to picnic and to walk."
