Girl Guides attended a workshop at High Wycombe’s Bucks New University campus to enhance their technological skills.
The youngsters visited South Bucks at the end of November at Code Ninjas within the university to participate in a special evening of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) and coding activities.
Ran by two good friends in Robin Theakston and Charlie Gunn, and the pair were excited to welcome the Stokenchurch Guides to experience their workshops.

During the session, the girl guides turned ninjas – the name Code Ninjas give to their students – took part in Microsoft MakeCode game building, LEGO Robotics and Snap Circuits.
Robin said: “By having the Stokenchurch Guides participate in these activities, we wanted to show girls that the world of coding is for everyone.

“Everything about our curriculum is inclusive and built around fun, which keeps kids coming back.
“Children get immediate help and encouragement from a Code Sensei and fellow ninjas on the nine-belt programme as they advance from white to black belt.”
