THE POLICE in Buckinghamshire have warned homeowners after a rise in burglaries.
Thames Valley Police issued a warning to residents on Sunday following an increase in the number of burglaries in the Amersham area over the weekend.
More patrols had to be carried out by the Neighbourhood and response teams, the force said.
Thames Valley Police said: “We are working with our detectives in capturing those involved.
“Please review security at the rear of your property and look out for your neighbours.”
Between July 1 and October 1 this year 20 Amersham homes were targeted by criminals compared to just eight year-on-year.
In Chalfonts, 20 homes were burgled during that time compared to six year-on-year – a 233 percent rise, figures from Thames Valle Police showed.
