A former village dessert shop is set to be turned into a gift and homeware store in Bourne End.
Bourne for Desserts was based on The Parade for almost five years after opening in November 2016 but closed down in October earlier this year.
Signs have been placed in the door revealing that The Lemon Tree will take over the store and will sell gifts and homeware items.
A message from The Lemon Tree on Google reads: "Homeware and Gift shop for all occasions. Specialists in bespoke hampers. A hamper is not just for Christmas!"
The shop floor has been cleared as work begins to transform the inside with the opening "coming soon".
The new shop managers have an online domain but it is not yet connected to a website, according to Google.
The previous dessert shop manager, Ralph Durbridge, let customers know on the day of the closure.
The store sold a variety of sweet treats including ice cream, cakes and waffles as well as a range of milkshakes.
The closure notice read: “Sadly, today Sunday October 2, I must close the doors of Bourne for Dessert and cease trading.
“I wish to take this opportunity of thanking my trading neighbours who made me welcome.
“I also wish to thank all customers for your support. I also wish to offer my thanks to every person who worked at Bourne for Desserts, they worked tirelessly to provide a good service often under difficult circumstances.
“Personally I have enjoyed my time living in Bourne End and met some fantastic people and friends.
“It is wise to identify and thank Sarah Wilson as the lady who voluntarily transformed and maintained the garden belonging to and in front of these shops enjoyed by many.
“I am not a gardener and likely to leave the weed and remove the flowers! Thank you all.”
