A PARKING plea has come from dozens of residents who have signed a petition to stop 'dangerous parking' near an Aldi in Bucks.
The petition that has been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council calls for better safety measures in Cambridge Street, Aylesbury.
It says 'dangerous parking' is plaguing the area between supermarket Aldi and the Royal Mail delivery office as a cycle lane is regularly obstructed.
The petition claims the problem comes from vehicles being parked up and blocking the pathway as people pick up food from takeaways in the street.
It said: "This is dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. For example a car pulled up onto the pavement at the pedestrian crossing as myself and my two young children were approaching to cross."
The petition has been signed by 67 people and will now be considered by councillors early at a meeting next year.
It calls for bollards to prevent parking and 'to prevent risk to cyclists and pedestrians using this stretch of pavement'.
The request will be considered by the Aylesbury Community Board on February 16, 2023.
