Radio and TV presenter Chris Evans started the 33rd edition of the Marlow Half Marathon last weekend.
The race began from the iconic Marlow Bridge with the traditional start complete with Guy Fawkes running and a rocket’s loud bang.
The runners headed up Marlow High Street, and then up towards Bovingdon Green and Marlow Common.
The route then went through the Chiltern Hills and onto Hambleden
Valley before returning to the town and finishing in Marlow Sports Club on Pound Lane.
It was also the 7th edition of the Marlow Half Marathon’s sister race, the Marlow 7.
After starting the race, Chris joined the runners around the Marlow 7 route whilst his wife Natasha completed the Marlow Half Marathon.
Patrick Grindley, the race director, is hoping that the event will pass the cumulative figure of £250,000.
This year’s charities include the Marlow Ukraine Collective, Samaritans and the Marlow Sports Club.
