Entrepreneur Peter Jones, 56, best known for his appearances on the BBC business show, will be pressing the switch on Thursday, November 24.

He is also a 'guest shark' on Shark Tank in America and also the founder of Britain’s first enterprise academy.

Launching the Peter Jones Foundation in 2005, the aim was to provide young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with enterprise skills and experiences.

In 2009 he was honoured by Her Majesty the Queen and made a CBE for his services to business, enterprise and young people.

Peter Jones said: "Who wouldn’t want to be in Marlow, it has a unique character with vibrance and it’s a very investable town, so we are going to light it up.

"I am delighted to be involved!”

Mayor, Richard Scott added: “We are delighted to have Peter on board to illuminate Marlow, he was the dragon we were after and we know he will make Marlow special this Christmas.

"It was a tough pitch, but we secured his backing!“

Last year, saw the return of the town's Christmas lights switch-on following the restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic as breakfast show presenter Chris Evans had the honour of lighting up Marlow.

Himself a local resident, he also secretly filmed the town's lights sitch-on during the coronavirus lockdown period in 2020.
