A MAN has been handed a driving ban after he was involved in a crash at 3am and found to be four times the drink drive limit.
Johnathan Wilder, of Blackmore Lane, Sonning Common, admitted drunk driving in Fairmile, Henley on Thames, on September 26, 2021.
The 64 year old was involved in a crash between two cars around 3am and undertook a roadside breath test with police.
He was found to have 142mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg.
The driver and two passengers of the second vehicle were hurt during the incident but all have made a full recovery.
Wilder pleaded guilty to one count of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, October 12.
He was handed a four-year ban from driving and has been ordered to pay £270 court costs.
Investigating officer Sergeant Robin Nickless, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “This was a deeply concerning incident.
“Wilder was shown to have driven a motor vehicle whilst just over four times the legal limit – a staggering amount.
“It is very fortunate that no one in this incident was seriously injured.
“I would like to thank the members of the public that came forward to assist police and the injured party in the incident.
“I am pleased to see the courts have handed down this sentence and hope this shows those who drink whilst under the influence of alcohol will be taken through the courts and will face justice.”
