Seventeen Buckinghamshire businesses received their food hygiene ratings following surprise inspections, including KFC and a kebab restaurant in Amersham.

The food safety regulator Food Standards Agency website rated several restaurants, cafes, canteens, pubs, bars and takeaways across the county for their hygiene standards.

Bouncy Snack Bar on Wilton Crescent in Beaconsfield received a two rating, meaning some improvement was necessary.

However, majority of the Bucks businesses continued to score four or above.

Following an inspection, the FSA ratings are displayed on the window of the business and online to help customers decide where to buy food from.

There are the six food hygiene scores available to businesses:

5 – hygiene standards are very good

4 – hygiene standards are good

3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory

2 – some improvement is necessary

1 – major improvement is necessary

0 – urgent improvement is required
