The playground in Higginson Park is set to undergo a major transformation in the near future.
Buckinghamshire Council has secured funding for the works at the "extremely popular" Marlow playground after admitting heavy wear has caused the need for the removal of some of the equipment.
The council will begin engaging with local stakeholders as plans get underway for the new refurbishment.
Clive Harriss, Buckinghamshire Council's Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, said: "The play area at Higginson Park is due to be upgraded as part of our capital play area improvement programme.
"Funds have been secured for the improvement works and we will shortly be engaging with local stakeholders.
"The play area in Higginson Park is extremely popular, which accounts for the heavy wear and the need for the removal, earlier than expected of items which are no longer serviceable.
"This will be considered in the refurbishment to ensure the park is more sustainable."
